Principal’s Message

Dear Pirate nation,

Welcome to Brunswick High School, where we are committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging educational environment for all students. As a principal it is my pleasure to work alongside a wonderful group of extremely talented educators each and every day.

At Brunswick High School we are committed to providing each of our students with opportunities for growth every single day.  The team of educators we have at BHS is dedicated to fostering a supportive learning environment that maximizes your child’s chances of grasping new information.

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year we look forward to continuing the pattern of excellence we have enjoyed over past generations.  Brunswick High School continues to improve its overall graduation rate from around 70% in the early 2010s to 99% over the last three years (2024, 2025, 2026).  Brunswick High School is recognized as an AP STEM School as well as an AP Stem Achievement School for the 2026 School Year.  Brunswick High School “Beat the Odds” during the 2025 school year, just as we have every year since 2018.  A portion of the Beating the Odds data demonstrated that BHS outperformed expectations by a larger margin than 99% of schools in Georgia.

I look forward to a great year.  My door is always open and you are welcome to stop by or call with any comment or suggestion you might feel would help support student growth and culture at Brunswick High School.  GO PIRATES!!

Fair winds and following seas,

Slade Turner
