Fall: Mason Introduction to Business and Technology-4th Block Assignments

Click on the Google Sheets attached to this assignment. You will see at the bottom three different tabs. ("College Research, Military Research, and Career Research").  Read the instructions on each sheet and fill out the charts. It says "Research" so you can use the Internet to help you BUT you do not need to COPY AND PASTE. You do not need to complete the Career Research tab until you are finished with the other two.

Using what you learned from the notes, create a 1-page flyer on Microsoft Word explaining these two essential forms in the hiring process.  Submit your completed activity here!

Open up your journal template one last time. You will add the following prompt to your journal and then submit the last journal doc for the semester.  


In your opinion how do you think you get a job? What are the steps you should take? Are there any steps at all? Do you have a job and if so how did you get your job? If you do not have a job do you planning on getting one in the next 5 years if so what type of job? Will the job you get in five years or the one you have right now be your job forever? 

View the attached list of commands in Word. Find the shortcut key for each command. For example: Bold, the shortcut key for Bold is CTRL B. If you are not sure of a short cut key go to word and hover over the button. When you are finished create your own BINGO Card by creating a table! You can design anyway you way you like. I have posted an example of what it could look like. Make sure you have all of the commands that are listed on the list. You will have two duplicates as they have the same shortcut key its just a different command. Remember you insert a table by going to the Insert Tab, selecting the table button. 

Instead of a journal, I want you to create a table that list technology that has enhanced our lives and how the technology changed the workplace and society with:
-At least 2 columns
-At least 4 rows (this will include a row for your column headings, so you just have to come up with 3 forms of technology)
-A title
-Column/Row Titles

Using skills and techniques learned from Thursday, create your own calendar for the month of October. This calendar needs to include at least 5 school related events. Be creative!

This will be apart of your FBLA Project. Instead of the total being 100 it is now 110. Today's assignment is worth 10 points. You must research and prepare a presentation (8 slides with pictures and title slide included) to understand types of business models/ownerships.

Get headphones from the back room. Watch the video and answer the corresponding questions. 

Create your own Tik Tok, SnapChat video, or any other video app to do your own "switch" from either Casual to Business Casual or Business Casual to Professional. Please review the videos ,as examples.

Go, research, and "shop" at the specific store given to you by the teacher. You are looking for items of clothing that is considered professional that you may wear to an interview. Copy and paste outfits on a Google Doc. and label the outfit, price tag, etc. on it)


Please use the rubric attached to help you complete the project. I have attached examples.

Go to Typing.com and complete 3 typing tests, please mark you score for each test on the document below. Once you are finished turn in worksheet. You should have four weeks worth of races (1 per week) The dates for the races include:

Create a one Powerpoint slide using Google Slides answering the 11 questions from the "Professionalism Day 1 PP: First Impressions Continued Powerpoint"

Be creative. Add color, using different font, and font sizes. You can also add any school appropriate picture of yourself.

Turn in all your journals (NOT TYPING.COM TESTS DOCUMENT)!

Today we will be giving back to our community by making "Thank you" cares for all of the healthcare workers who are out on the line working hard everyday to help stop the ongoing pandemic. If you are here you will complete this on paper and if you are not you will do this on a Google Doc and I will print it out. Don't just put thank you on it, put some pictures and maybe a saying or two to know that you appreciate them!

Answer the questions in the Google Doc. Answers must be at least five sentences long.

Use last weeks bullets point to create your own company's code of ethics. You can create these on Google Docs (if you are not here) or Microsoft Word. Be creative and be sure to include a picture.

Teacher will give specific instructions to those that are present today. If you are not present please email me ([email protected]). Remember you are making a presentation for 8 character traits.

Instead of a journal, complete the Ethics pre-test. Please answer the questions as truthfully as possible. THIS IS NOT FOR A GRADE!
