Archer 2nd Block 2022-S1 Assignments

For this assignment, you should read the story "Checkouts" and you should answer the questions provided in full sentences. (Remember, you have a quiz over this story and "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" tomorrow!)

2. Read the story The Most Dangerous Game.  Identify examples of foreshadowing, internal conflict,  and external conflict. What is the primary setting for this story? You will need this information for answering the questions.
3. Answer the questions.

Quiz Tuesday, 9/28

See the attached list for your Achieve 3000 article list and complete any missing articles.  I also assigned a new article today.  

Read pages 102-142 (Floor 6).  There will be a quiz on Monday Sept 20th.  
Select a page from your reading to do an analysis for figurative language.  Be prepared to discuss in class on Monday.

Create a google doc and write a cinquain using the structure provided. 

Read pages 40-102 in the novel, Long Way Down.  Answer the questions in the worksheet below.  You must complete this before class on Monday.  You can find the novel in the Long Way Down Resource section.

Before you begin this assignment, make sure to check out the resource section and look over the learning checkpoint practice sample.  


Do the best you can for this assignment.  If you make a 75% or higher you will not have to take the Learning Checkpoint 2 for Unit 1.  


If you do not complete the checkpoint by 2:15 Sept 9th it will post whatever answers you have given to that point and score it. 


Take your time and read the questions and make sure you answer what is being asked.
