Learning Target: I will simplify radical values.

Success Criteria: I can identify a radical. I can identify perfect squares. I can pair like factors into groups in order to rewrite a simplified form of a radical.

Pirate Prep Warm Up

Instructional Strategies:

• Opening (I do): None.
• Work Session (We do - You do): Working with a partner, students will complete the Simplifying Radical puzzle. Teacher will monitor progress throughout the class and provide assistance when needed.  
• Closing (We check): Continuously check student progress on puzzle.

Differentiation Strategies: Scaffolding throughout lesson and applications will be provided for rigor. Students will work with pairs at some points throughout the assignment.

Formative/Summative Assessment(s) (We check): Check of puzzle order.
