MGSE9-12. A.CED.2 Algebra 1 Standards –     Writing Exponential Functions using tables, graphs & situations. 

Learning Target:

·         I will create an exponential function given a table, graph and situation.

Success Criteria:

·         I can identify the initial value of an exponential function.

·         I can calculate the common ratio of an exponential function.

·         I can identify the proper exponential equation to use to write the function.

Recall characteristics of Exponential Functions.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

GUIDED PRACTICE: 

We will complete sample problems working on writing exponential equations given tables, graphs and situations.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will finish the worksheet on writing functions and will come to the board for a group check.

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .
