·         I will evaluate linear functions.  

·         I will write linear functions.

  • I can define the following terms:
    • Domain
    • Range
    • Relation
    • Function
  • I can label the Domain, Range, & Function from the following:
    • Coordinate points
    • Table
    • Mapping diagram
    • Graph
  • I can use function notation to evaluate linear functions.
    • Substitute input values into equations to identify output values
    • Use the table button to evaluate functions 
  • I can write linear functions given the following:
    •  Coordinate points
    • Table
    • Applications

Introduction/Connection: 

Pirate Prep

Verbally review what relations & functions are and discuss the definition of a domain and range.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

None.

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

We will work with a partner on the interactive quiz questions from my.hrw.com online.  

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .

SUMMARIZE/CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING:

Throughout the interactive quiz questions, we will review the correct answers and go more in depth (depending on the problem) of review. 

Assignments/Homework:

November Discussion due Wednesday, November 30th.
