Learning Target:

·         I will write and solve for the nth term of an arithmetic sequence. 

Success Criteria:

  • I can identify the first term.
  • I can identify the common difference.
  • I can identify the nth term we are finding.
  • I can remember and understand the DNA1 acronym.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

Complete notes in in notes section in notebook.

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10

GUIDED PRACTICE: 

As a class, we will complete samples problems on the worksheet provided to students.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will finish the two pages individually and at some time with a partner.

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .

SUMMARIZE/CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING:

Students will complete problems on the board for a check towards the end of class.  Ticket-out-the-door.
