Learning Target:

·         I will solve systems of equations.

Success Criteria:

  • I can graph systems.
  • I can substitute systems.
  • I can eliminate systems.
  • I can identify the solution
    • One solution – (x, y)
    • No solutions – variables cancel out (false statement)
    • Infinitely many solution – variables cancel out (true statement)

Introduction/Connection: 

Pirate Prep

Recall 3 methods of solving systems of equations. 

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

None.

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10

GUIDED PRACTICE: 

As a class, we will go through some of the simple questions on the systems review worksheet.   

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will complete the remaining problems on the systems review worksheet.

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .

SUMMARIZE/CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING:

Students will come to the board to share solutions to the review sheet.
