Success Criteria:

• I can factor quadratic expressions.
• Identify a quadratic expression.
• Use the x-method to organize my work.
• Identify the GCF.
• Label the A, B, & C value of a quadratic equation.
• Identify my factors of the “a and c” value.
• Identify which factors of “a and c” add to give me the “b” value.
• Write answers in factored form.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

Complete Factoring Quadratic Expression Notes using the X-method as the form of solving.

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

GUIDED PRACTICE: 

The teacher will provide several examples on the handout (#1-6). Some we will walk through together and a few others we will use the scaffolding method.  

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

The students will finish their worksheet. The students will check with teachers when needed more guided direction.

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .
