Learning Target:

·         I will solve a quadratic equation.    

Success Criteria:

  • I can solve quadratic equations by factoring.
    • Put a quadratic equation in standard form
    • Factor the quadratic
    • Solve each factor when equal to zero

Introduction/Connection: 

Pirate Prep

Review the X-method and the difference in solving quadratic expressions vs equations by factoring.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

None.

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10

GUIDED PRACTICE: 

Review ticket-out-the-door from yesterday.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will complete the factoring equations color page from yesterday and then complete their online Savvas practice.

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .
