Activities & Assignments
PP: Discovering voice

The class will begin with a read aloud of the first few paragraphs of part 2. The instructor will introduce the concept of Jumping the Shark in modern plots. Students will write a few notes listing Shark Jumping in tv shows, games, and films. We will then conduct an academic discussion on those moments and make a decision on whether Marner has jumped the shark with its massive jump in years.

We will then brainstorm a few potential foreshadow elements in this chapter. The instructor will review the students ideas and reveal the true foreshadowing moment. Students will be tasked to write a paragraph trying to guess the next moves for the novel’s plot.
