Standard/s:

MGSE9-12.F.IF.4 Algebra 1 Standards – Identifying Direction of Opening, Axis of Symmetry and Vertex from Standard and Vertex Form

Learning Target:

·         I will calculator the axis of symmetry and vertex from the standard form of a quadratic function.

·         I will identify the direction of opening given a quadratic function.

·         I will identify the axis of symmetry and vertex from the vertex form of a quadratic function.

Success Criteria:

·         I can identify the standard form of a quadratic function.

·         I can identify the vertex form of a quadratic function.

·         I can identify the direction of opening given a quadratic function based on the value of “A” (if a > 0 it faces up, if a < 0 it faces down).
