MGSE9-12.F.IF.7 & 9 Algebra 1 Standards  Comparing linear, quadratic & exponential tables.

Learning Target:

·         I will compare and contrast linear, quadratic, and exponential functions.

Success Criteria:

·         I can identify the difference between linear, quadratic, and exponential functions

o    Graphs

o    Equations

o    Situations

·         I can identify the difference between linear, quadratic, and exponential tables.

o    Linear – 1st common difference (+ or -)

o    Quadratic – 2nd common difference (+ or -)

o    Exponential – common ratio (x)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

None.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will finish any remaining problems from the last two days of classwork.

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .

SUMMARIZE/CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING:

Students (with a partner) will build their own Linear, Quadratic or Exponential Function. Their function will be assigned. They will need to show examples of a table, graph, equation and situation given their function.
