Opening (I Do) An engaging process for lesson introduction that is specifically planned to encourage equitable and purposeful student participation. Describe the instructional process that will be used to introduce the lesson. TKES 1, 2, 3,4,5, 8,10 | Standard/s: MGSE9-12.F.BF.2 & A.CED.2 Algebra 1 Standards Exponential Functions |
Learning Target: · I will recognize and evaluate all types of exponential functions. · I will recognize, extend, and find the given term of a geometric sequence. · I will recognize and evaluate all types of exponential functions.
Success Criteria: · I can recognize an exponential function by a curve on a graph. · I can identify exponential equations based on a power of “x”. · I can evaluate exponential functions. · I can identify exponential tables based on a repeating multiplication pattern. I can identify a geometric sequence by recognizing multiplication patterns. · I can differentiate between an exponential growth and decay problem · I can identify all components of exponential formulas. · I can use the growth/decay formula (along with half-life and compound interests) to evaluate exponential applications.
