Latin Root

Class will begin by breaking into magazine groups. Each group will be given a random article of a current event. The groups will evaluate these articles for specific criteria. (Timeliness, interest, detail, brevity, subject). Each of these will be defined before the groups begin rating them. Each group will share their findings.

The groups will then be given a list of numbered prompts where the entries are potential topics for our poetry magazines. Each member of the group will be presented with Dice to roll. The member’s rolls will be their topic for the magazine. NO REPEATS. The teacher will then present a rubric for the writing assignment.

Groups will be given time to start their writing projects.
