Activities & Assignments

PP: Discovering voice

Class will begin with a discussion about Class in the  time of Silas Marner. We will list instances where class has been present in the narrative with a special emphasis on the church exit proceedings at the beginning of part 2. The class will then rewatch the climax moment in Wishbone taking careful note of the scene.

The instructor will then read the equivalent scene in the novel. We will work on a visual organizer to juxtapose the two scenes are compare and contrast. The class will then write a letter to Marner and either encourage or dissuade his role in the novel’s climax.

Class will end with time to work on Magazine projects.
