Activities & Assignments

FFW

Class will begin with a discussion about argumentative claims and MINI claims. We will locate and discuss a few of the miniclaims before searching for the main claim in the article.

From here we will preview the vocab from the last paragraph and rewrite it in our own words. At this point we will locate the primary claim from the article and analyze it. From here we will work to assign blame in the decline of the American summer job. The teacher will guide students in their efforts to assign this blame and justify it.

Class will conclude with frame sentence introductions and a final paragraph writing activity.
