MGSE9-12.S.ID.6a-c, 7 and 9 Algebra 1 Standards  Discussing correlations given situations and scatter plots.

Learning Target:

·         I will identify and analyze the line of best fit.

Success Criteria:

·         I can differentiate between a trendline and a line of best fit.

·         I can use the data button I my calculator to input coordinate points in order to calculate the line of best fit.

    • A value (slope)
    • B value (y-intercept)

GUIDED PRACTICE: 

We will complete sample problems together to calculate lines of best fit.  

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will finish the remaining problems on the handout on Lines of Best Fit.

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding .
