Learning Target:

·         I will calculate measures of variability of data sets.

·         I will create and analyze two-way frequency tables.

·         I will create and analyze box-and-whisker plots. 

·         I will organize, display, and read data using bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs and stem-and-leaf plots.

·         I will calculate the mean, median, mode and range of a data set. 

·         I will describe how outliers affect data sets. 

·         I will calculate the line of best fit.

·         I will identify positive, negative and no correlations amongst given data sets.

Success Criteria:

• I can define and calculate the following terms of a data set:

o   Mean absolute deviation

·         I can define a two-way frequency table.

·         I can complete a two-way table given known values or an application.

·         I can calculate joint- and marginal-frequencies (percentages & probabilities) within two-way tables.

·         I can use the calculator to calculate the line of best fit.

·         I can use scatter plots to identify types of correlations. 

·         I can calculate the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile, and maximum of a data set.

·         I can create a box-and-whisker plot given the 5-summary statistics.

·         I can identify bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs, and stem-and-leaf-plots.

·         I can define the mean, median, mode, range, and outlier of a data set.

·         I will calculate the line of best fit.
