Opening (I Do) An engaging process for lesson introduction that is specifically planned to encourage equitable and purposeful student participation. Describe the instructional process that will be used to introduce the lesson. TKES 1, 2, 3,4,5, 8,10 | Standard/s: Algebra 1 Standards MGSE9-12.S.ID.1-2, 5, 6a-c, 7 and 9 Data Test 2 |
Learning Target: · I will calculate measures of variability of data sets. · I will create and analyze two-way frequency tables. · I will create and analyze box-and-whisker plots. · I will organize, display, and read data using bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs and stem-and-leaf plots. · I will calculate the mean, median, mode and range of a data set. · I will describe how outliers affect data sets. · I will calculate the line of best fit. · I will identify positive, negative and no correlations amongst given data sets.
Success Criteria:
o Mean absolute deviation · I can define a two-way frequency table. · I can complete a two-way table given known values or an application. · I can calculate joint- and marginal-frequencies (percentages & probabilities) within two-way tables. · I can use the calculator to calculate the line of best fit. · I can use scatter plots to identify types of correlations. · I can calculate the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile, and maximum of a data set. · I can create a box-and-whisker plot given the 5-summary statistics. · I can identify bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs, and stem-and-leaf-plots. · I can define the mean, median, mode, range, and outlier of a data set. · I will calculate the line of best fit. · I will identify positive, negative and no correlations amongst given data sets. · I can use the calculator to calculate the line of best fit. · I can use scatter plots to identify types of correlations.
