The day will begin with a read aloud of “An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge.” Students will be encouraged to think very carefully of the narrators positioning within the story and how that position/perspective changes.
After the reading and discussion of perspective, the instructor will search for the film of “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge.” We will closely analyze a few shots from the film to reinforce our discussion of perspective. How does the film approach the view? Is it different from the story?
We will end the day with a final concluding thought. How would the scene change if the man’s eyes were blindfolded?
