Activities & Assignments
PP: Finding Voice

The instructor will begin with a short definition of Exposition along with a few examples from literature and media.
First we will dig deeper into the Tell Tale Heart by Poe. Students will split into groups to write a short description of this man and wear the story may go. Students have likely read this story before, so their familiarity will help them discuss.
Second we will embark upon an electronic journey through two separate pieces of exposition through the final fantasy game series. The two examples follow very different paths in introducing the video games. Students will remain in groups to analyze the two intros and compare and contrast. Which tactics are used? Which is more effective? Which game do you wish to play more and why?
We will conclude with a quick writing of an exposition to an important event in your life. Who are the main players? What do we need to know about them? What is the setting? How do we set the mood? If time allows we will share our personal expositions.
