Opening prompt of Montague’s “The Fight.” Final stanza analysis.
Students will then define the term “double edge of impulse” used in the poem. What does it mean when Montague invokes it in the poem?
Students wil then compare “The Fight” with “What Happened During the Ice Storm” to further explore this “double edge of impulse. A graphic organizer will be provided so students can begin the journey to a multi paragraph analysis.
