All STANDARDS depending on the topic the students have chosen for their FINAL Project.

Learning Target:

I can learn more about a specific Astronomy topic through research and create a scrapbook project from that collected information.

Success Criteria:

I can learn about an approved Astronomy topic and conduct research on that topic. 

I can construct a scrapbook to display my information with at least ten articles, a Glossary of terms, a Table of Contents, a three-paragraph essay, an MLA-formatted Bibliography, and images.

Instructional Strategies:

 

 

Gradual Release Model of Instruction:  I Do, We Do, You Do, We Check

 

Opening (I do): PIRATE PREP - None due to research in the Computer Lab in the Media Center

We Do:

  1. Login to the 2117 Computer Lab computers to continue research. 
  2. Print out articles to support the project using the Media Center printers.

You Do:

  1. Conduct research.
  2. Create a Table of Contents.
  3. Build a Glossary in alphabetical order with at least 10 words.
  4. Produce a Bibliography in MLA-formatting.
  5. Type a three-paragraph essay based on your research and beliefs based on that information.
  6. Decorate and make pretty using the resources provided to you or that you purchase to enhance your project. (I have provided at least 10 clear sleeves to each of you!)

Closing (We Check): 

  1. Flocabulary #13 on "The Big Bang Model" due on December 9th by 11:59 p.m.
  2. Keep your notebook organized.
  3. Work on any missing work or incomplete assignments.

Differentiation Strategies:
