Read closely and analyze an article about the rivalry between Shakespere and his contemporaries
Connect Shakespere’s works with modern stories and retellings.
Success Criteria:
Students will create annotated texts with detailed notes regarding the role of Shakespere in the modern world.
Students will write their own short versions of a modern Shakespere Theme.
Activities & Assignments
PP: Latin Root
Class will begin with a brief description of plays from Shakespere’s time and his competitors. We will return to the great men we listed last week and make a new list of their competitors or rivals. We will then consider which of these rivals are worthier than those who are recognized as the dominant influencer.
Students will then write summaries of the Achieve article and answer the guided questions.
