Grammar Quiz
Class will split into groups and read aloud the “Lottery” revision handout. Each member of the group will focus on one particular revision. The group will then turn their attention to the questions concerning the handout and the revision process.
Students will then finish reading “Lottery” on their own while taking careful notes about which sections of the writing made the cut in the final draft and which did not. They will use their discussions from earlier to spot these revisions as they read.
Students will then write a long analytical paragraph about a SINGLE revision Hadiri made reflecting on its power.
After sharing their paragraphs, the instructor will read aloud the final section and ask a final leading question for an academic discussion to close the class.
