Study for the test and get out allowed supplies to use during the test. Take the Unit Test. HW: R.A. #11 due Thursday); two new Flocabulary assignments due next Wednesday. Resources: Modern Chemistry by Holt, Rinehart, and Winston Unit Test, calculators, and notebooks Thursday Standard(s): SC2a. Plan and carry out an investigation to gather evidence to compare the physical and chemical properties at the macroscopic scale to infer the strength of intermolecular and intramolecular forces. LT: We are learning how to compare chemical and physical properties using inter- and intramolecular forces. SC: I can define and provide examples of chemical and physical properties. I can define mixtures, pure substances, compounds, diatomic molecules, and solutions. I can conduct an investigation to compare physical and chemical properties. Lesson/Activity: Check R.A. #11. Start Unit 3: PhET on “States of Matter.” (Use Chromebooks and worksheets for this!) C.S.I. episode: “Then There Were None” (deals with states of matter, physical properties, and scientific data collection - all recent and upcoming topics) HW: Three R.A.s due next week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday); two Flocabulary assignments, though. Lab #6 will be next week dealing with physical properties and changes. Resources: Modern Chemistry by Holt, Rinehart, and Winston Google Classroom, Promethean Board, PhET activity, and worksheets in notebooks. Friday Standard(s): SC2a. Lesson/Activity: Pass out Graphic Organizer for “Classification of Matter” Notes on “States of Matter” Start Lab #6 set-up. Execute Lab #6 on Monday and Tuesday in class. How you dress will matter for this lab. (Will take 2-days for all groups to complete.) HW: Next week is a busy week before your mini Fall Break. Please do the following: three R.A.s (no more for two weeks after that while notebooks are being checked), two Flocabulary assignments due on Wednesday, and Lab #6 on Monday or Tuesday. Do your part, so you can rest over the break! Resources: Modern Chemistry by Holt, Rinehart, and Winston Lab section Notebooks and PhET worksheet
