a. Explain the development of the Southern Colonies, including but not limited to reasons established, impact of location and place, relations with American Indians, and economic development. 


b. Explain the development of the New England Colonies, including but not limited to reasons established, impact of location and place, relations with American Indians, and economic development. 


c. Explain the development of the Mid-Atlantic Colonies, including but not limited to reasons established, impact of location and place, relations with American Indians, and economic development.


LT  I will explain the development of the regions of the 13 British colonies as it relates to the rising conflicts with Great Britain

SC: I can list the regions of the 13 British colonies and which colonies are in each region 

  • I can list the description of the 13 British colonies as it relates to population, economics, government, and slavery

Create Tourism Poster for a Region Poster

  1. Describe different methods of colonial self-governance in the period of Salutary Neglect

  2. Explain colonial response to the Proclamation of 1763, the Stamp Act, and the Intolerable Acts as seen in the Sons and Daughters of Liberty and the Committees of Correspondence.

LT: I will describe the effects of Britain’s Salutary Neglect 


SC: I can summarize and explain the effects of the French and Indian War 

 I can identify the events that happened that lead to the Declaration of Independence and ultimately the American Revolutionary War 

Lesson/Activity: Pirate Prep; Graphic Organizer of Events Leading to Revolutionary War; Navigation Acts; French and Indian War
