Eugenia Price-Joyce Blackburn Foundation Young Poets Award

Alliyah Stallworth, one of Brunswick High's Virtual students, has been selected for the Eugenia Price-Joyce Blackburn Foundation Young Poets Award for the 10th grade.  Alliyah was honored in a showcase held by the Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association (GIAHA) on April 28, and her poem will be published in The Brunswick News.  This year's poetry contest theme was Freedom.

The Young Poets Award results from an annual poetry writing competition which is open to all Glynn County high school students (public and private).  Student work is “blind judged" by a panel made up of writers and scholars. Originality, style, content, and poetics are the basis of the judges' decisions.
