On April 1, State School Superintendent Richard Woods announced that 145 graduating seniors from across the State have been recognized as 2025 Georgia Scholars.
Of that total, three students in Glynn County Schools were named. They include Brunswick High School seniors, Drew Davis, Emily Hoskins and Sherri Rook.
Through the Georgia Scholar program, the Georgia Department of Education identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. Students eligible for Georgia Scholar recognition are high school seniors who exhibit excellence in all phases of school life, in community activities, and in the home.
Georgia Scholars are students who have carried exemplary course loads during their four years of high school; who performed excellently in all courses; who successfully participated in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities; and who have assumed active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools.
“Congratulations to the 145 outstanding students honored as Georgia Scholars this year!," Superintendent Woods said. “This prestigious recognition identifies students who go above and beyond in all aspects of life – both within the school walls and in the community. I wish them great success in their futures and can’t wait to see the impact they make on our state, nation, and world."
The program is coordinated by GaDOE’s Office of Communications in partnership with local school districts and schools. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for their diploma.
