About Me
Hi! My name is Matt Thompson. I am entering my 21st year of education. I began my career teaching science in a Maximum Security Prison in Newport News, Virginia. I taught there for 2 years before moving to Alexandria, VA. I taught Algebra 1 and Chemistry for 8 years for Fairfax County Public Schools. When I moved to Georgia in 2013 I began teaching at Glynn Academy. I taught for 4 years before becoming an Assistant Principal at both Jane Macon Middle School and Glynn Middle School. In 2020 I shifted roles again and became the K-12 Mathematics Coordinator for Glynn County Schools. I am excited to get back into the classroom this year and teach Statistical Reasoning. It is going to be a great year.
